• Concept of the “foor balance”

REDUCING PIGLET MORTALITY IN FARROWING

It’s a unique elevator system : the balance cage with moveable sow slat which help improving number of weaned piglets and increase work comfort by less daily monitoring. The key is the foor underneath the sow being flexible, when the sow rises to eat, she touches a sensor pneumatically pushing up her floor. This way, piglets will be temporarily separated from their mothers by a level difference of 25 cm, thus reducing the number of crushed piglets.

 GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE CAGE

1. THE FLOOR
Balance frame system under the sow with an overturning 2 stainless steel trough, cast iron floor under the sow and the hatch for manure removal, fixed hatch in front and elevating hatch behind. Coated metal flooring on a self supporting frame or Plastic floor on fiberglass supports equiped with electric or hot water mat for piglets (0,5 x 1,20m).

2. SOW CRATE
Galvanizer tubular equipment for sows with a door, adjustable in width and depth (reversible).

3. SEPARATION
Robust PVC panels with handles at the front and rear, height 50 cm.
