Promoting the breeder.

A Cooperl breeder is an example of what modern pork
production in Brittany is capable of achieving whilst balancing
economics, food safety and environmental issues.

Pork farming is a profession that requires overall knowledge of
breeding, hygiene, feeding techniques, competitiveness and whose
final objectives are, now more than ever, the production of a high-
quality and easily traced meat product.

Cooperl member farms are family farms where the breeder is never
alone. Technicians of the group anticipate and suggest solutions that
are within the group’s philosophy.

Produce healthier, better, and cleaner.
Becoming a member of Cooperl means joining a group where all
sectors are undergoing growth.
Being a member of Cooperl also means gaining pride in belonging
to the premier French pork-breeding group. A pioneer in several
domains, Cooperl’s strategy is to increase breeder’s revenue
and the establishment of a premiere certified pork brand.

Meat industry
100 persons including 13 veterinarians assist breeders from different locations in the west of France.

Checks made at the farms (with regular visits from the technical
team and veterinarians), at the slaughterhouse (checks by
COOPERL personnel and DSV) and through laboratory analysis
(DSV, private laboratories…) allow for constant monitoring
of animal health.

Building and rearing technicians help the breeder organise
production and give advice concerning rearing methods.

Our network, completely located in the west of France, includes:

• 1 organisation of pork producers with access to all technical services.
• 7 decentralised poles to allow for close contact with members.
• 6 CALIPRO stores for breeders.
• 3 cattle feed production facilities harmoniously located for cost effective delivering in the entire west of France.
• 2 industrial slaughterhouses, cutting and food-processing facilities that receive 70,000 pigs per week.
• 1 food-processing and packing centre in Estrablin (Isère)
• 1 meat curing unit
• 1 organisation dealing with environmental problems:
- DENITRAL S.A. (semi-liquid manure treatment)
- FERTIVAL S.A. - S.B.S.A. (waste incineration).

• Several teams specialised in diverse agriculture-related activities: supply, poultry farming, cattle feed…
